3. Kata ganti nama dan Klitik Pronouns and Clitics

Lebih baik menulis kata ganti nama terpisah drpd perkataan sebelumnya.

It appears to be better to write pronouns separated from the previous word.

a). Koniab ot kinorikatan ku. || Siombo ot walay nu? || Ôodi ot gampa yo.

The clitic ‘i’ seems best joined to the previous word with a hyphen. Perkataan ‘i’ sebaik-baiknya ditulis dgn menggunakan sengkang.

b). Waro-i ot tulun silo. || Koongoy oku-i suuwab. || Silo-i i gampa nu.

4. Jenis b & d yg keras dan yg lembut Implosive Stops vs. ‘Regular’ Stops

Bagus membezakan jenis b & d yg keras (macam dlm Melayu) dan yg lembut (macam kebanyakannya dlm Kimaragang), tetapi tdk wajib.

It is good to distinguish the implosive from the non-implosive stops, but not essential.

Bagus menulis ‘b’ keras (yg sama dgn ‘b’ & ‘d’ Melayu) dgn ‘bb’ atau ‘dd’.

It is preferable to write non-plosive b & d with double letters ‘bb’ and ‘dd’.

a). obbuli/obuli

Ada perkataan yg sebutannya berbeza sedikit di antara Kota Marudu dan Pitas, seperti ‘taddaw’/tadlaw’. Ada beberapa pilihan cara mengeja perkataan ini:

There exists slight pronunciation differences between the Kota Marudu and Pitas dialects of Kimaragang for certain words, such as ‘taddaw’/‘tadlaw’/ ‘taglaw’. There are different ways these can be spelled:

b). tadaw/taddaw/tadlaw/taglaw || toddong/todlong

Saya cadangkan perkataan utk ‘hari’ itu dieja sebagai ‘tadlaw’, kerana ejaan ini boleh diterimapakai oleh kedua-dua dialek. Orang Kota Marudu boleh membaca ‘dl’ itu sebagai ‘dd’ (iaitu d keras). Orang Pitas boleh membacanya secara langsung.

I suggest that the best choice for the word ‘day’ is ‘tadlaw’, since this spelling can work well for both dialect. Kota Marudu people can read the ‘dl’ as the non-implosive ‘d’. Pitas people can read the sequence straightforwardly.
